Cream Cheese French Toast With Strawberries
Yield: 6 servings
Ingredients:
French Toast
- 1 - 16 ox. loaf French bread cut into 24 - 3/4" slices
- 8 oz. cream cheese with pineapple
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 2 TBSP butter, melted
Topping
- 1 quart (4 cups) fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 TBSP amaretto
Directions:
The Night Before
- Grease 13" x 9" baking dish.
- Spread 1 TBSP cream cheese on 12 bread slices.
- Top with remaining bread slice to form 12 sandwiches.
- Place bread in prepared baking dish.
- Beat eggs.
- Add milk, sugar, salt and cinnamon.
- Pour over bread.
- Let rest for 5 minutes.
- Turn bread over and cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Chop strawberries.
- Combine strawberries, sugar and amaretto.
- Refrigerate overnight.
The Morning
- Preheat over to 400° F.
- Uncover and drizzle with melted butter.
- Bake 25-30 minutes.
- Serve French toast with strawberries.
